Extensions may also be used where there is an ongoing operational need, or to allow sufficient time to plan and complete a compliant re‑procurement without disrupting service delivery. The contract may be extended in defined increments (for example, an initial extension period followed by further optional extensions), up to the maximum duration set out in the tender documents. Any decision to extend will be based on supplier performance, value for money, and continued service need, and will not exceed the limits stated at the outset of the procurement.
