Description
Velindre University NHS Trust (the “Trust”) is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to provide 24/7 manned security services at the former Whitchurch Hospital site.
The site comprises a large, vacant and partially derelict estate, with limited lighting and infrastructure, requiring a continuous and professional security presence to ensure the protection of assets, prevention of unauthorised access, and management of health and safety risks.
The successful contractor will be responsible for delivering a fully managed security service, including (but not limited to):
- Continuous onsite guarding (minimum of two SIA-licensed operatives at all times).
- Routine patrols across buildings, perimeter fencing, and external areas
- Detection, reporting and escalation of incidents
- Response to CCTV activations and alarm notifications
- Monitoring risks such as trespass, vandalism, fire and structural hazards
- Maintaining detailed patrol logs, incident reports, and KPI performance data
- Provision of staffing, welfare facilities, equipment and PPE
Given the nature of the estate, contractors must demonstrate experience of working within high-risk, potentially hazardous environments, including those with structural deterioration and possible asbestos-containing materials, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards.
