Description
TfL are procuring the design, manufacture and supply of circa 61,140 seats for the ‘S-Stock’ trains. The S-Stock fleet of trains comprises of the following lines on London Underground:
– Metropolitan Line;
– District Line;
– Hammersmith and City Line; and
– Circle Line.
This contract for an estimated duration of 3 years with an option to extend for up to 24 months.
In total there is a nominal 193 trains consisting of two variants, ‘S8’ (59 trains circa 360 seats each) and ‘S7’ (133 trains circa 304 seats each).

Selection criteria:
Full criteria can be found in the free of charge tender documents, however, succinctly, Bidders will be required to provide answers to questions to relevant to the subject matter in addition to standard Conditions of Participation questions. These will be scored and ranked highest to lowest and the top 5 will proceed though to tender. However, if there is 5% gap between the 5th and 6trh ranked Bidders both will go though.

Description of risks to contract performance
TfL / LUL operate a live running railway there there may be operational considerations where trains may not be available and thus, slow the progress of contract delivery. There is an allowence to extend the contract by up to 24 months from the original completion date to cover this risk.
There is also a risk of accidental or other damage at no fault of the Supplier, thus there is a provision while the contract is live to purchase additional Seats (or parts thereof),
